Today I am in London attending two Growth Mission workshops for the Rural Taskforce on Government Mission Delivery—a vital initiative working to embed rural priorities at the heart of national policymaking.
This week’s bulletin brings together stories highlighting the breadth and vitality of rural issues, including a key focus is the Government’s recently published update on rural proofing, which sets out how departments are considering rural needs. While there are encouraging signs of progress, rural proofing must go beyond principles and become a consistent, practical part of policymaking—ensuring that rural communities aren’t left behind.
The RSN was quoted in the Express this weekend, in an article reporting on the proposed abolition of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and what this could mean for digital infrastructure and connectivity in rural areas. Read the article here.
This week, we’re also pleased to share the latest edition of Casebook from the Rural Health and Care Alliance, packed with insights and stories from across the sector.
Looking ahead, our next RSN Seminar is just a week away! Join us on Wednesday the 4th of June, with a focus on Rural Transport — a key issue for communities across the country. If you haven’t already booked, we encourage you to secure your spot today.
